What Exactly is a Disc Jockey?
Let us start by saying that there are several types of DJs. We are only going to explain the 3 most common.
1. Mobile Disc Jockeys
We travel with mobile sound systems and play from an extensive collection of pre-recorded content for a specific audience. A professional mobile dj will have a large selection of music, professional-grade equipment, good organizational skills, vocal talent as an MC, mixing skills, and quality lighting. A good DJ on average spends 30+ hours on each event, and works very closely with the client. Over the years the role of the mobile DJ has expanded. We have assumed additional responsibilities to ensure an event's success. Such as:

- Lighting Director
- Sound Engineer
2. Club Disc Jockeys
The main focus of club DJs is on the music they play and how they remix tracks in and out of each other or just to add a bit of energy to a track. They build their sets by choosing tracks to control the energy level of the crowd and use beat mixing techniques for a seamless transition between tracks.
3. Radio Disc Jockeys
A radio DJ plays music that is broadcast across radio waves. Radio stations use program directors/music directors to generate the play list. Present day radio DJs do not typically pick the music to play. Emceeing and answering the phone is their primary duty.
